MISSION: Bert’s Big Adventuresm is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization designed to allow children with chronic and/or terminal illnesses, ages 5 to 12, who prove financial need and live in “The Bert Show” radio listening area (WWWQ-FM/Q100.5), the chance to experience a magical weekend at Walt Disney World.

FIRST WALT DISNEY WORLD TRIP: In March 2003, Bert’s Big Adventure made its inaugural trip to Walt Disney World. Seven metro area children and their families were treated to an unforgettable weekend in Orlando, Fla. An “Adventure Staff” of 15 attended to the children’s special needs throughout the trip, and five cast members of All the Hits Q100.5 FM’s “The Bert Show” accompanied the group.

THE DISNEY EXPERIENCE: The goal of Bert’s Big Adventure is to charter a flight with the children, their families and a medical staff to Walt Disney World each year. Bert’s Big Adventure will provide hotel accommodations, Walt Disney World park passes, transportation to and from the park and meal coupons to all families.

NOMINATING A BERT’S BIG ADVENTURE CHILD: Children may be nominated for the Bert’s Big Adventure trip via a confidential application. Nominees must be between the ages of 5 and 12, have a debilitating and/or terminal condition, demonstrate financial need and live in the All the Hits Q100.5 FM listening area. The organization’s medical committee will select the nominees for the upcoming trip, scheduled for February 2005.
