June 8th – 11th – World Oceans Day at Georgia Aquarium

World Oceans Day June 8-11, 2011 at Georgia AquariumThe Georgia Aquarium invites you to join them as they celebrate World Oceans Day from June 8-11 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day at the Georgia Aquarium. This amazing day will use Atlanta’s very own ocean, and the world’s largest Aquarium, to expose visitors to the wonders of the oceans, and how they effect us everyday, in an educational and engaging manor and environment.

In honor of World Oceans Day, Georgia Aquarium is partnering once again with Dr. Seuss and will have lots of giveaways, activities, games and more!

Activities and giveaways include:

  • Dr. Seuss activity booklets, Horton Hears a Who pencils and Dr. Seuss eraser books
  • Temporary tattoos
  • One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish bookmarks
  • Arts & crafts stations including: Decorate a World Oceans Day crown; One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, Who are you fish? nametags; and much more
  • Special Dr. Seuss poster contests throughout the day
  • Eco-friendly partner pavilion, including free biodegradable sunscreen samples thanks to Reef Safe Sun Care

The World Oceans Day Celebration will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Aquarium’s beautiful Oceans Ballroom where guests will learn about what they can do to help protect our oceans and promote conservation of the environment, as well as learn about eco-friendly products and partners in our eco-friendly partner pavilion. See up close the tools and toys we use to feed our whale sharks and enrich our beluga whales.

These events are always free for Annual Pass members and complimentary for all guests in the Aquarium with general admission. Activities and giveaways are based on availability. Please arrive early.
