Xfinity Science Saturdays: Modern Marvels: Super Ships at Tellus Science Museum

Kick off your weekends with science this summer! Through a partnership with Comcast, every Saturday will be an XFINITY Science Saturday at Tellus. The Theater will be screening one program looping all day, from National Geographic Channel, History Channel, Science Channel or The Weather Channel. These shows will cover everything from the Hubble telescope, big machines, dinosaurs, mining and much more. As part of XFINITY Science Saturdays, Tellus will introduce our Xploration Stations. These stations, manned by Tellus staff, will offer activities and insights into some aspect of science with a “WOW” moment in a demonstration. Come join us as we explore different experiments like a miniature exploding volcano, prisms, or a hands-on activity to explore our five senses.

Night Hike at Chattahoochee Nature Center

Join a naturalist on an outdoor journey to see what happens as the sun goes down and the night comes to life! Hike through the wetlands or woods, visit with a nocturnal animal up close and enjoy a campfire complete with marshmallow roasting.

Art in the Park at Marietta Square

Experience the 25th annual Art in the Park festival on the Marietta Square.
This fine art extravaganza held each Labor Day weekend is presented by the Marietta Business Association and one of the Top 20 Events selected by the Southeast Tourism Society for September. One hundred thirty artists, whose works include paintings, photography, pottery, graphics, sculptures and jewelry will be on display at the festival. Artists representing 16 states will display and sell their wares in Glover Park. Guests young and old can discover their hidden artist within at the back-by-popular-demand Interactive Art Alley, which is full of many wonderful and free make and take art stations.
Acworth Love the Lake Festival
WHEN: Saturday, September 3rd from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, September 4th from noon to 6pm

The Labor Day weekend festival takes place at Cauble Park near downtown Acworth and features over 150 arts & crafts vendors as well as 30 food vendors and live entertainment. There is also a large kids zone.

Labor Day at Fort Yargo

The local historic society will give tours of our historic fort from 2-8 p.m., then we’ll have hayrides from 6-8 p.m. $5 hayrides, plus $5 parking.
