LEGOLAND® Discovery Center in Phipps Plaza Provides Educational Fun For Kids During Summer Break

With summer break now in full force, parents and day care facilities are in need of fun, interesting places to take elementary school age and middle school age children. Finding an educational facility that also allows children to participate in hands-on, intellectually stimulating activities is also very difficult. LEGOLAND® Discovery Center is designed to be a source of both education and fun, with a family friendly facility that kids will love coming back to again and again. The Model Builder Academy is one part of the center that receives the most attention. The academy focuses on future little model builders that often become interested in the fields of engineering, technology, and architecture. Learning to design, create, and test out all kinds of colorful wacky creations is a great way to promote ingenuity and critical thinking skills. Problem solving and teamwork are also two crucial development skills honed by doing many of the center’s activities for elementary school age and middle school age children.

LEGO® Racers: Built & Test

The first, the LEGO® Racers: Build & Test portion of the center is designed to let children make their very own little LEGO racer and test it out with their friends in a fun, high-speed race. Teamwork and light-hearted competition combine to make LEGO® Racers area of the center one of LEGOLAND’s main, and most fun, attractions.

LEGOLAND® Earthquake Tables

The second educational attraction at the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center is the Earthquake Tables. This part of the center is a great way to delve further into science and building skills, testing kids’ ability to make a sturdy tower that gets put to the test by an earthquake table with moving plates. The earthquake table is a great way to help teach kids how tectonic plates and earthquakes work, as well as further develop building skills.

LEGO® Factory

The third educational attraction at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center is in the center and is the actual LEGO Factory. Here, Professor Brick-A-Brack leads everyone through a tour of the LEGO factory and walks them through each LEGO’s transformation from raw plastic to a cool and colorful toy. The factory’s most fun part, though, is the buttons and knobs that every kid can push and explore to participate and learn.

Parents can look forward to their son or daughter getting a day full of entertainment and education all wrapped up into one. LEGOLAND® Discover Center is located in Phipps Plaza in Buckhead.

Tickets are free for toddlers below two years of age, $16.20 for ages 3-12, and $20.52 for ages 13 and older. Online tickets are 10% off, and online tickets purchased after 4pm are $13.50. Annual passes are also available.
