Win Tickets To Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at Atlanta Botanical Gardens | @AtlBotanical #Giveaway

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at Atlanta Botanical Garden is back and better than ever!  Last year the kids had a ton of fun as we strolled through Atlanta Botanical Gardens.   My daughter walked into a few things because she was looking up and not forward, a lot of the time.  She was in awe of the spectacular light displays.

2012 Garden Lights Holiday Nights at Atlanta Botanical Gardens

My favorite feature was the “Orchestral Orbs” on the main lawn.  Orchestral Orbs is a topiary light show choreographed to holiday music had children and adults dancing!

When:

November 17-January 5
5-10pm nightly

What’s new in 2012:

  • The show’s live mascot Lumina – a magical, fairylike light sprite born of the white winter flower, created in partnership with Serenbe Playhouse – will wave her magic wand nightly from 5-8pm, greeting guests (and creating a great family photo opp!). This costume is being created by local designer Tian Justman.
  • The launch of Glow Bar (nightly beginning at 8pm), will offer a festive area for libations and fun (for the 21+ set)
  • New lighting displays: Cascades Garden casts a spectacular icy cool vibe; Liquid Lights display featuring blue and white lighted fountain sprays and water curtains; and the “Starry Night Walk,” inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting, sparkles with dozens of swirling stars twinkling along a camellia-lined walkway
  • Illuminated “frelves” (frog elves) will be positioned throughout the garden, adding a festive touch

Returning favorites:

  • The Great Lawn’s “Orchestral Orbs,” developed in collaboration with Lighting Science Group, is a frenetic topiary light show choreographed to holiday music
  • The Edible Garden’s “Brilliant Bugs” display is a fun, festive reminder of the importance of insects to any garden
  • The Holiday Model Train Show will be back in a new, expanded location in Alston Overlook
  • Fire pits for roasting s’mores and a mouth-watering dinner menu from MetroFresh in the Garden
