Internationally Renowned Festival Returns This Weekend
Wake up and smell the onions with Vidalia this weekend! The 36th annual Vidalia Onion Festival returns to Georgia with an array of fun-filled activities. Celebrating the harvest of Georgia’s Official State Vegetable, the Vidalia Onion Festival kicks off the weekend at 5 p.m. on Thursday with a Children’s Parade, the Vidalia Onion Culinary Extravaganza featuring Georgia artist Mark Ballard and a FREE screening of “Wreck-It Ralph” on the large outdoor movie screen!
The excitement continues throughout the weekend with the 36th annual Vidalia Onion Run, air shows, the World Famous Onion Eating Contest, a live performance by the Charlie Daniels Band and much more! The non-stop entertainment schedule and unique displays of culinary craftsmanship are sure to delight both visitors and locals alike.
