LongHorn Steakhouse – An Atlanta Tradition Since 1981.

Before our recent visit to LongHorn Steakhouse, I didn’t even remember the last time I had been there.  We don’t eat out very much.  However, after our visit to LongHorn Steakhouse about 2 weeks ago, we will be going back to LongHorn Steakhouse again.  I had the pleasure of attending a tasting event at LongHorn Steakhouse in Atlanta and let me tell you..my taste buds went on adventure that night!

LongHorn has one of the best menus for kids and adults; there is something for everyone.  I have food allergies and they were happy to accommodate me by making slight changes to my meal.  All of my questions concerning the food were answered  and they were great about it.  Do you have gluten allergies?  No fear!  They have a menu for you.  You can even look at it online before you ever step in the door.

We started out with two appetizers.

The first appetizer we enjoyed was Wild West Shrimp®, Crispy, hand-battered shrimp with spicy cherry peppers, garlic butter and housemade Ranch dressing. It’s 10oz. of crispy, but melt in your mouth, shrimp that was so good that I could have eaten every bit of it all by myself!

The second appetizer was Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms.  5 grilled mushroom caps stuffed with cheddar and herbs served over a creamy blend of four melted cheeses… delicious! My husband couldn’t get enough of those.

Strawberry and Pecan Salad

I love salad.  I eat salad every day for lunch and then again dinner.  I could eat LongHorn’s Strawberry and Pecan Salad all day long.  The salad has greens, strawberries, grapes, oranges, onions, feta, pecans, and raspberry vinaigrette; everything that I like to have in a salad.  Sweet, but not too sweet.   I wish I knew how they made their raspberry vinaigrette because it is now my favorite dressing.

Our main course was steak of course!

I had the scrumptious Outlaw Ribeye® and cooked to perfection asparagus. The Outlaw Ribeye ® is 18oz of tender juicy-fire grilled steak! It was cooked exactly like I wanted, medium rare and it was perfect. Yes, I did say it is 18oz. so it was more than enough.  I brought the rest home and had it for lunch the next day.  I love when I can get two meals out of one!  I would absolutely go back and get this again.

We thought we were full but were we wrong!

The Chocolate Stampede® is Six types of chocolate in peaks and layers that are served with vanilla bean ice cream. My husband was in heaven with all that chocolate! I was so full that I tried to eat just one bite.  But that one bite turned into a second and then a third.  It was so hard to stop eating this dessert!

A little about LongHorn Steakhouse:

Did you know that LognHorn Steakhouse was founded in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia by George McKerrow, Jr.? The restaurant began with one man’s passion for perfect steak but very few guests to convince. Then a freak snowstorm hit Atlanta in 1982, stranding motorists and drawing them to one of the only hospitable places available – a restaurant then called LongHorn Steaks Restaurant & Saloon. Tales of expertly grilled steaks soon spread like wildfire, and the legend of LongHorn was born.
