July Fourth Celebration, National Ice Cream Day and Feature Exhibit – WEEBLES Coast to Coast

This July visitors to The Children’s Museum of Atlanta can participate in a July Fourth Extravaganza, learn how to make ice cream with Blue Bell, and visit all 50 states in the feature exhibit WEEBLES Coast to Coast. Below is a schedule of exhibit information and special programming for July 2013.

In WEEBLES Coast to Coast, visitors can travel to each of the 50 states to explore U.S. geography,  history, and culture. Exhibit activities feature American travel, sports and leisure pastimes, music from across the nation, and fun and important information about well-known people, places, and historical events. Children can pretend to power a riverboat down the Mississippi, hit a home run at Fenway Park,build the Saint Louis Gateway Arch, ride a mule into the Grand Canyon, and snorkel in Hawaii.

July Fourth Celebration

Thursday, July 4 at 2:00 PM

Join the Imaginators for a July Fourth Celebration! Visitors can make an American flag to wave in our Fourth of July Parade led by Imaginator Jerry G. White and his drums. After the parade, families are invited to salute our country by joining in a roaring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and You’re A Grand Ole Flag. For fun in the sun, children can decorate sunglasses and water bottle holders that can be carried across the street to Centennial Olympic Park.

The celebration goes out with a bang as children participate in a special indoor imagination fireworks display!

National Ice Cream Day

Sunday, July 21 at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM

Yum! Visit the Museum to learn how to make ice cream with Blue Bell and sample your creation. Visitors will also receive complimentary Blue Bell Ice Cream when leaving the museum.

FutureVet Presentation

Saturday, July 27 at 12:00 PM

FutureVet is an interactive program designed to help children learn about pet healthcare and veterinary medicine through fun learning activities. Each event will end with a mini-graduation, complete with a certificate and stethoscope!

Exhibit Sponsors: Funding for The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is provided by the Fulton County Board ofCommissioners under the guidance of Fulton County Arts & Culture.

Museum hours: Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Admission is $12.75 plus tax for ages 1 – 100. The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is located at 275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW in Downtown Atlanta.
