Celebrate International Whale Shark Day at Georgia Aquarium – August 30-31

Celebrate Whale Shark Weekend at Georgia Aquarium

Whale sharks are slow-moving filter feeding sharks and the largest known fish species in the world.  The largest confirmed whale shark was over 40 feet long and weighed over 47,000 pounds. That’s an animal worth celebrating! International Whale Shark Day is August 30th, but we’re celebrating all weekend.

As the home to the only whale sharks in human care in the Western Hemisphere, we’d like to join you as we marvel at these incredible creatures.

Friday, August 30:

Be one of our first 200 guests at the aquarium on Friday, August 30 and receive a free 4R (Rescue, Rehabilitation, Research and Responsibility) reusable shopping bag!
