Marietta Chalkfest – August 31st – September 2nd

Marietta Chalkfest 2013

ChalkFest is a weekend-long chalk art festival in Marietta, GA. ChalkFest takes place in front of and around Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, just one block south of historic Marietta Square, about 15 miles northwest of Atlanta. ChalkFest runs in conjunction with Art in the Park, a fine arts extravaganza in Marietta Square which features an artist market, children’s art alley, and other art-related events for the whole family!

ChalkFest is a celebration of art. 20 contracted, professional chalk artists from all over the country will be creating larger than life works in front of you! Anybody and everybody is welcome to participate in our annual juried chalk art competition. We will also have a separate area for young children who want to draw with chalk but don’t want to compete in our competition.

Marietta ChalkFest will take place on Labor Day Weekend 2013: August 31 and September 1 & 2, occurring in conjunction with Art in the Park. Professional chalk artists will be drawing from 10 am – 5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The annual chalk art competition (open to the public) will be on Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm. All works created during Marietta ChalkFest will be on display while chalk artists are working and all day Monday.

ChalkFest is free to the public. If you would like to make a donation, there will be boxes available for you to do so. There is a suggested donation of $5. Your donation will benefit Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, a non profit organization dedicated to building community through art. There is a fee for participating in the juried chalk competition.
