Rocktoberfest at Rock City – Through October 27th

Get in touch with Rock City’s German heritage during the 8th annual Rocktoberfest! Rock City Square is transformed for a celebration of harvests and fall foliage. Stroll through an atmosphere of German music and food! Specialty beer will be on tap in the Beer Garden. Dance at the polka stage with some great German bands and experience a Birds of Prey Show. Also enjoy special German cuisine at Café 7!

Rock City’s 8th annual German festival Rocktoberfest, opens every Saturday and Sunday in October beginning this Saturday, October 5th from 8:30 am to 6 pm. Experience a fun German atmosphere and help celebrate the German heritage at Rock City Gardens and honor its founder, Frieda Utermoehlen Carter. This event consists of authentic German food, specialty beer, live music, dancing (yes, the chicken dance) and Rock City Raptors Birds of Prey Shows!

Hear regional bands as well as some of Chattanooga’s favorites like The Wurstbrats (a subgroup of Chattanooga’s Big Band Sweet Georgia Sound), Laurentz und die Katzen, The Oompahsters and Die Mitternaechters! Between live German music, polka lessons, interactive kid’s activities, storytelling by “The Troll King” and delicious food like grilled bratwursts, rosemary potatoes and homemade sauerkraut, there is something for all ages!

Kids Activities including: Interactive Kids Activities (balloons, music, mime, magic, etc) will occur at the Lovers Leap Terraces and throughout the park during the event, offerings may vary throughout event. Plus Fairyland Forest Makeovers*, Pumpking Painting*, Panning for Gems* and the Rock Climbing Wall*
