5 Beautiful Georgia State Parks Just About An Hour Drive From Atlanta

Georgia is home to over 60 State Parks and Historic Sites.  Many are within an hours drive of Atlanta depending on traffic.  Most have activities every weekend that are fun for the entire family.  Several of Georgia’s State Parks have cabins to rent or if you like sleeping in a tent they also have reservable camping sites.   Every year we become a ‘Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites‘ member.  Depending on your level of membership you will get different perks, but all come with a parking pass for Georgia State Parks.  Parking is $5.00 per vehicle so depending on how often you visit a Georgia State Park it might be something for you to consider.  We have enjoyed the benefits of ours and will continue to purchase a membership every year.
