Stand Up For Stand Down Toiletry Drive

Help show Georgia’s veterans they have not been forgotten!  Donate much-needed toiletries and personal care items to fill comfort bags for the 3rd Annual’s “Stand Up for Stand Down” toiletry drive.  Sponsored by Georgia Cancer Specialists and Northside Hospital, the donated items will be given to veterans at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.  Donations can be dropped off at any Georgia Cancer Specialists location.  For locations go to www.gacancer.com

Folk Fest
August 14-16

More than 100 exhibitors will return to the North Atlanta Trade Center for the 21st Annual Folk Fest.  See Folk Art, “Outsider” Art, Southern Folk Pottery, Antique and Anonymous Works as well as new discoveries at one of the largest gatherings of its kind in the Southeast.  Hours are; Friday 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  F2F discount:  $3 off tickets. Dine Out For Kids

Magnolia Run & Walk For Epilepsy

One in 26 people will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime. There are 150,000 Georgians living with epilepsy.  These families depend on the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia and the (EFGA) depends on supporters of the Magnolia Run & Walk for Epilepsy.    The 5K Run and One miles walk begins 8 a.m. With 90 teams last year, the annual event raised more than $144,000   www.epilepsyga.org or www.active.com  1-800-527-7105

South Dekalb Striders 5K For Hope
August 22
Georgia Perimeter College

For the past 23 years, the South DeKalb Striders Running Club has held its annual 5k Road Race.  The event raises funds for Our House, a non-profit organization in Decatur that provides early childhood education and support services for families who are homeless.  The fun begins and ends at Georgia Perimeter College.  The events starts with a one-mile fun run at 7:30 a.m. and the 5k begins at 8:00 a.m.  For more information visit www.southdekalbstriders.org


TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola
August 30 to Sept. 26

Tickets to the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola will be available at metro Atlanta Kroger stores beginning Sunday, August 30 – Sept. 26. The season ends in Atlanta, September 24 -27 at East Lake Golf Club. 100% of ticket sales benefit the East Lake Foundation. See in store displays for details.
