Los Trompos (Spinning Tops) Interactive Setting on the Sifly Piazza

Interactive Setting on the Sifly Piazza

April 24 – November 29, 2015

Spin with us at the High in the interactive setting Los Trompos, located in the center of the Woodruff Arts Center campus on the Sifly Piazza. Join us to play, create and be a part of the art in this welcoming space, where you can watch amazing performances (every first and third Friday), have a picnic or just spin in a top. Come see what you’ll discover right in the heart of Midtown!

The High presents the second large-scale, interactive design installation by contemporary Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena on the Sifly Piazza. The site-specific work, titled Los Trompos (The Spinning Tops), continues a multi-year initiative to activate the outdoor space and engage visitors. As a blank canvas for community engagement and programming, Los Trompos draws its inspiration from the form of a spinning top, a toy popular with children around the world. The project features more than 30 three-dimensional, larger-than-life tops in a variety of colors and shapes installed throughout the Piazza.

All events on the Sifly Piazza are free and open to the public.
