Pike Nurseries to host gardening classes in February

Just as January comes to an end, February brings fresh opportunities to tidy up the garden and start preparing for the upcoming spring season. To help gardeners of all levels stay on track this month, Pike Nurseries is hosting two FREE classes at all store locations. Whether they’re planting long-lasting roses to surprise loved ones for Valentine’s Day or brightening up a sun-starved spot in the yard with shade gardening techniques, guests will learn expert tips and tricks for a February filled with playing in the dirt!


 

Growing Roses Class

Saturday, February 13 at 9 a.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

Sweetheart season is here! Now is the perfect time to let love blossom and learn how to grow roses right in the backyard. With their sweet scents, velvet-like petals and flirty floral display, roses have always been a garden favorite. They are also perfect for cutting and bringing indoors to enjoy or share with a loved one! During this free class, guests will learn about the many varieties of these love-struck flowers, along with tips for planting, pruning and caring for them to ensure beautiful blooms through the summertime.

 

Shade Gardening Class

Saturday, February 27 at 9 a.m. at all Pike Nurseries store locations

Bright, beautiful colors can shine in even the shadiest corners of the landscape. To help customers add interesting foliage and pretty hues to sun-starved spots in their yard, Pike Nurseries is hosting this free class at all store locations. Guests will learn how to plan and plant their own shade garden using plants that thrive with limited light. With advice from the garden experts at Pike Nurseries, both sunny and shady spots will dazzle with eye-catching color from spring to fall!

In an effort to increase awareness and understanding of the plants and products provided at Pike Nurseries, the company will host its annual Product Knowledge Fair for its employees on Wednesday, February 17. In order for employees to participate, all store locations will be closed for the day. The Pike Nurseries team is excited for this opportunity to learn more about the horticulture industry and to further enhance their customer service and community offerings.
