Georgia Aquarium Earth Day

This year marks Earth Day’s 46th anniversary. The internationally recognized holiday is celebrated on April 22 every year. This Earth Day is a significant year as the Paris Agreement, an agreement under the United Nations to help reduce greenhouse gases and global warming, is scheduled to be signed by more than 120 countries.

Earth Day at Georgia Aquarium, along with Endangered Species Day in May and World Oceans Day in June, are part of Georgia Aquarium’s “Party for the Planet.” These events are meant to help show the beauty of aquatic life and inspire future generations to help protect the oceans and everything living within them.

Georgia Aquarium strives to go green and help conserve water on a daily basis. Georgia Aquarium has reduced water usage by approximately 24 percent through a combination of condensation recaptured from cooling units, waterless urinals, and operational improvements to our life support systems.

All crafts and interactive activities are free to guests with general admission. For more information, please visit www.georgiaaquarium.org/earth-day.
