Enjoy Bug Time and a Butterfly Festival at Chattahoochee Nature Center in July! @ChattNature

Butterfly Festival at Chattahoochee Nature Center

For a lot of kids, Summertime means Bug Time… Whether they’re watching butterflies by day, catching fireflies by night, or playing with “rolly pollys” and ladybugs galore, kids seem to have a tendency towards insects.  And why shouldn’t they?  Many insects are pollinators – they bring us most of the fruits and vegetables we love so much, and they’re just plain fun to watch (not to mention listen to on warm summer nights).  This season is a great time to observe all our favorite insects, and to teach kids how important these tiny critters are to our world.

So this month, The Chattahoochee Nature Center is all about Insects.  Butterflies, bees, ladybugs, you name it.  And we’re celebrating the season with a Butterfly Festival for everyone this July.

Join us for our 13th Annual Flying Colors Butterfly Festival on Saturday, July 14, 10am-3pm, & Sunday, July 15, Noon-5pm.  We will have live butterfly releases, arts and crafts, face painting, a butterfly costume parade, and more.  This year brings a new element as well – a walk-through butterfly enclosure!  Not only are these butterflies that we celebrate simply beautiful to observe, but they are also important pollinators.  Join us in celebrating them with loads of fun at the nature center!
