Do you ever wonder about missed connections? Whether it’s a missed connection with a lost love, a best friend from high school, or a neighbor that you wish you had gotten to know better? Connections are something we think about and not just at the airport, right?
About two years ago, I was in the airport waiting for a flight for a business trip when I saw my daughter’s Pre-K teacher walking by. My first thought was why isn’t she at school with my daughter, then I belted out a loud “Hi Ms. M”! We live in Atlanta which is home to one of the busiest airports in the world, so I never considered that there was a chance I would run into someone I know at the airport.
Airports are a hub. They are a hub for people who are in a hurry to get somewhere, people who are excited, and people who are a nervous. Nine times out of ten, if you are waiting at the terminal for any time, you’ll find that your terminal neighbor will be happy to have a conversation with you. You may even learn that you grew up in the same city or that you share similar interests.
When I heard about the Connecting Flights video (below) from Sears called I was intrigued to say the least. So many things can happen at an airport. Which was this movie going to be about. Running into an old flame at Terminal B? Getting stuck between the toilet and your luggage in the airport restroom? Waiting behind nightmare Nancy in the security line?
In this romantic comedy, the male and female stars are acting as bloggers who are stranded in the airport for the holidays. Imagine that, bloggers. 😉 The bloggers have a great time connecting at the airport, they presumably fall in love, and after that is when the video reveals its true intention. If only they would expand this short into a full length movie.. I’d go.
