Savannah, Georgia Historic Family Vacation

The DoubleTree by Hilton on West Bay Street, provides families with everything they need to enjoy their stay, including free in-room wi-fi, a fitness area, and an outdoor heated pool. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with all of the little extras that make Hilton a trusted name in hotel excellence.

The rooms have a large flat screen television and hypo-allergenic pillows on the beds, and some suites offer whirlpool spa baths, perfect for parents who need a relaxing break from the kids after a busy day of sightseeing. Plus, there are plenty of food options for families, from room service, to an optional daily free Southern style hearty breakfast, complete with grits, eggs, sausage, and more. John Ryan’s Bistro in the hotel offers lunch and dinner options kids and parents will both love.

The DoubleTree by Hilton is within a stone’s throw from the best visitor areas in Savannah. Within walking distance of the hotel is the famed River Street, a vibrant riverside area full of character. Hundred year old converted cotton warehouses are now home to antique shops, fantastic pubs and restaurants, and boutiques for all tastes. There are also some amazing galleries, though many families find watching the ships on the river to be just as spectacular a sight. This charming southern town is still one of the busiest ports in the country, and this keeps the city feeling fresh and exciting, with a historical flavor.

No visit to this sparkling city is complete without a trip on one of Old Savannah Tours‘ trollies. This is a great way for your family to see the city from a unique perspective. Children can get a fun history lesson, and parents can enjoy a relaxing tour of the city by riverboat.

If riverboating is too tame for your family’s tastes, try becoming a pirate on the local pirate ship ‘Renegade’. Children and grownups alike will enjoy this adventure!

After a long day sailing, shopping, and sightseeing, parents can rest easy knowing that their hotel is just a quick walk away. The DoubleTree by Hilton is waiting to welcome you home, at least while you are staying there.
