What fashion purchases would I make if I won $5k worth of ShopYourWay points?
Let me preface with this.. when I created a #styleSurprise catalog on ShopMyWay.com, complete with items that I would LOVE to have, my total came to $4,861.52 without even trying. If that doesn’t mean that it was meant be, I don’t know what does.
First, I would stock up on Lands’ End clothes. I love Lands’ End winter coats, pants, sweaters, and swimsuits. Experience with Lands’ End pants for the last 6 years or so, proves that just about any pair of their pants will fit and flatter my post-baby (6 years ago) body. Then, as you can see in the image of my styleSurprise catalog below, I would pick up a few pairs of shoes and boots. I’ve been wearing the same shoes for a few years. They are great shoes but I could stand to update my shoe style a bit. The funny thing is, now that I look at the image, I’m noticing that the shoes I chose are almost exactly like the shoes that I have. Hmm. I might have to rethink shoes.
I’m due for a new pair of sunglasses or two. My favorite Tori Burch sunglasses are significantly scratched which is very disappointing but that’s life. Don’t you love the Chloe Tortoise sunglasses in my catalog.

On to the good stuff.
My best kept fashion secret!
Even my daughter appreciates my super duper fashion secret. Fashion tape. That’s my fashion secret. On more than one occasion my daughter Madelyn has begged me for fashion tape.
Here are just a few ways I use fashion tape.
- I use fashion tape when I wear a blouse or sweater that lays low on my shoulders and could possibly show my bra straps. I’m so over the peeking bra strap. That was so 90′s, right?
- I use fashion tape to temporarily ‘hem’ slacks that are too long. I’m just over 5 feet tall so you can imagine I run into that problem often.
- When I wear a tank top that I wear under an unbuttoned shirt, has a habit of slouching or stretching, I use fashion tape to secure the tank top to my bra straps so it won’t slouch too low.
