Legendary Fourth of July Festivities at Lenox Square

Lenox Square is proud to host Atlanta’s Independence Day tradition and the largest fireworks show in the Southeast. The community is invited to attend this 54-year-old celebration:

Families can enjoy a fun day of fun activities.

Highlights include the following:

  • 3 p.m. – Lenox Square’s Kid Zone, which includes a variety of inflatables, bungee jumps and more.
  • 6 p.m. – Tin Lizzy’s VIP Area opens for guests ages 21 and up. A $10 cover gains you access and includes one complimentary beer. While inside, enjoy $4 drafts, $3 tacos and a relaxing lounge area with tables and chairs. Later in the evening, ‘Atlanta’s Next Legend’ winner Wesley Cook will be available for a meet & greet in the VIP Area.

Lenox Square 4th of July 2013 EventsBeginning at 6 p.m., Lenox Square’s Simon Style Setter Nikka Shae will emcee a diverse lineup of live entertainment at the main stage including the following:

  • 6 p.m. – Jimmy Buffett tribute band Sons of Sailors
  • 7 p.m. – ‘Atlanta’s Next Legend’ winner Wesley Cook
  • 7:40 p.m. – Saxophonist Trey Daniels, Patriotic Medley
  • 7:45 p.m. – Headliner Party On The Moon, a party band playing the latest in current dance, classic rock, disco/funk, swing, R&B, standards, Motown and new country. One of the most in-demand party bands in the country, Party on the Moon has played at President Obama’s Inauguration Ball and New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl champion Eli Manning’s wedding.

The much-anticipated fireworks display starts at 9:40 p.m. and lasts approximately 16 minutes. Weighing in at just over three tons, a grand total of 4,963 fireworks are used in the show, which is topped off with two mini-finales prior to the grand finale.

Rooftop Access to Pyrotechnics

  • Pyrotechnics Expert Ken Jones is available to show and discuss fireworks production, programming time, set-up and safety of fireworks.

Lauren McNulty – Director of Marketing & Business Development, Lenox Square

  • McNulty is available to tell viewers what’s in store at Lenox Square including July 4th activities and entertainment, fireworks, attendance and other updates.

Party on the Moon – Entertainment Headlining Band

  • 2:30 – 4 p.m. ONLY Members of Party on the Moon are available for interviews regarding the Lenox Square tradition and their experience as one of the country’s most in-demand cover bands.

Wesley Cook – ‘Atlanta’s Next Legend’ Winner

  • 12 – 2 p.m. ONLY Cook is available for interviews regarding Lenox Square’s inaugural talent search and his experience preparing for his debut performance.

Trey Daniels – ‘Atlanta’s Next Legend’ Runner-Up

  • 3:30-4:30 p.m. ONLY Daniels is available for interviews to talk about his preparation for performing a patriotic medley into “The Star Spangled Banner” at Lenox Square.

LENOX SQUARE HAS RESERVED EASY, IN-AND-OUT PARKING FOR LIVE TRUCKS IN THE FRONT MALL LOT NEAR THE WESTIN.

Lenox Square shops and restaurants are open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Activities open for a full-day of family fun at 3 p.m.

Musical entertainment from Sons of Sailors, Wesley Cook, Trey Daniels and Party on the Moon begins at 6 p.m.

Fireworks scheduled to begin at approximately 9:40 p.m.

GETTING THERE:

Due to street and highway closures, MARTA is the preferred and easiest means of transportation to and from the event.  On the Doraville line, exit at the “Lenox” station; on the North Springs line, exit at the “Buckhead” station.
PARKING:       Again this year, paid parking will be in place at Lenox Square. In addition, for $20, patrons can access Premier Parking, which is in immediate proximity of the festivities, and offers priority event departure assisted by the Atlanta Police Department.  A portion of the proceeds from parking fees will be donated to the Simon Youth Foundation.
