Decatur Book Festival – August 30 – September 1

AJC Decatur Book Festival

The AJC Decatur Book Festival is the largest independent book festival in the country and one of the five largest overall. Since its launch, more than 1,000 world-class authors and hundreds of thousands of festival-goers have crowded the historic downtown Decatur square to enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children’s area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, poetry slams, writing workshops, and more.

Many Young Adult (YA) literary genres will be represented at the 2013 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Decatur Book Festival Presented by DeKalb Medical (AJC DBF) on the event’s Teen Stage, including love and romance, dystopian and science-fiction thrillers, realistic fiction, paranormal adventure, and urban fantasy.

AJC DBF Children and Teen Programming Manager, Diane Capriola, says the festival always aims to have diverse young adult and teen programming. “We are excited to continue inspiring the next generation of readers through a variety of literary genres,” said Capriola. “This year’s lineup includes well established YA authors as well as new, debut authors who we expect to hear much more from in the years to come.”
