The Beginning of a New Holiday Tradition

Holidays at the Woodruff December 1 – December 31, 2011

The Woodruff Arts Center invites families to Holidays at the Woodruff, four weeks of fun-filled holiday festivities for the entire family beginning December 1st.

Holidays at the Woodruff opens with Visions of Santa: The Artistry of Haddon Sundblom, the largest exhibit of Coca-Cola Santas ever in Atlanta—an exhibition of 17 original oil paintings from the iconic depiction of Santa Claus, created by Chicago-artist Haddon Sundblom, which has been the centerpiece of the company’s holiday ads since 1931.

Scheduled activities during Holidays at the Woodruff include:

  • Visions of Santa: The Artistry of Haddon Sundblom
Children will test their powers of observation as they search for objects in the paintings in a game of I-Spy.  They can also curl up in the Storybook Nook, where some of Atlanta’s premier storytellers will be on hand to share favorite stories of the season.
  • Holiday Family Films
Miracle on 34th Street, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Black Candle are just a few of the free films scheduled for the big screen in the Rich Theatre.  Parents, grandparents and children of all ages will bridge the generation gap as they share time-honored classics and contemporary favorites.
  • Breakfast with Santa
Santa Claus will host two Saturday morning breakfasts and pose for photos with good little boys and girls. (December 10th and 17th)
  • High Tea
On select days parents and their little ones can take a break from the festivities to join holiday characters for warm holiday beverages and delicious cookies.
  • Cookie Decorating
Little ones and their grown-ups can decorate their favorite holiday treats to eat on site or tuck away for an afternoon snack. There will also be surprise visits by your children’s favorite characters!
