A Must Do: Callaway Gardens Festival in Lights

Callaway Gardens Fantasy in Lights 2011

My family has officially kicked off the Christmas season, has yours?  Our holiday spirit kicked into high gear when we were at Callaway Gardens for Fantasy in Lights recently.  Talk about a beautiful, relaxing, joyous, ride through millions of Christmas lights and jolly music!

With more than a dozen larger-than-life lighted scenes, Fantasy In Lights remains unique in that its scenes are custom-designed especially for Callaway Gardens–to celebrate not only the joy of the season but the wonder of nature in this idyllic setting.

Drive your own car or ride the Jolly Trolley to experience scenes including March of the Toy Soldiers and Snowflake Valley.  At Robin Lake Beach, enjoy Twas The Night before Christmas and The Nativity before or after your drive through.

We have been visiting Callaway Gardens for about 20 years (you read that right!) but this was our fist time staying in a Cottage there.  The cottage was very nice, spacious, and clean!  I love clean!  I didn’t want to go home because I haven’t seen my home as clean as the cottage we stayed in, for… a really long time.   The cottages are all nestled together with easy access to all areas of Callaway Gardens.  Our cottage had two bedrooms with four queen size beds, a living room, a full kitchen with a large kitchen table, two full bathrooms, a fireplace, tv’s in each room, a screened in porch, and a deck off of the main bedroom.  I would have loved to have stayed one more night!

Look for another post soon showcasing all of the fun things we did at Callaway Gardens before and the day after enjoying Fantasy in Lights.

Fantasy in Lights really is a must see for families.  It’s such a great experience for kids and a wonderful memory for families to create together!
