Author Gail Karwoski will read her book “Julie the Rockhound” at 1 PM & 3 PM, and her book “Waterbeds” at 2 PM in the Tellus theater.
Everybody loves treasure-hunting – especially when the treasure is in our backyard! Gail will share her picture book, “Julie the Rockhound,” and introduce the fascinating hobby of mineral collecting. The story tells about a child who discovers quartz, one of Earth’s most abundant minerals. Gail will also show slides of real rock digs, extraordinary crystals, and how crystals are fashioned into gemstones.
“Water Beds: Sleeping in the Ocean” is a story about marine science. In this program for young and old, Gail will show artist’s sketches and book proofs from “Water Beds: Sleeping in the Ocean.”
Each program will be followed by a book signing in the alcove in the Great Hall.

The readings and autograph sessions are free for members and included in regular admission for non-members.
