Pre-Teen Entrepreneur Camp Debuts In Metro Atlanta

Building Young Entrepreneurs - Summer Camp in Atlanta, GAThis past March, 17 year old high school student, Nick D’Aloisio, sold his news aggregator app to Yahoo! for $30 million in cash and stocks. Behave LLC is launching it’s inaugural summer program, Building Young Entrepreneurs (BYE), in Historic Downtown College Park to train the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“Building Young Entrepreneurs is about encouraging your kids to discover and follow their passion,” explains Lakeitha Grey, CEO of Behave and BYE Program Administrator. “I’ve read business success stories of kids as young as nine. Anything is possible with a dream and a little direction.”

The 9-week day camp for middle school students will cover all of the steps of developing a business plan, from discovering your passion to presenting your plan. The program will feature mentorship from area entrepreneurs and give students the opportunity to pitch their business idea to a panel of micro-investors and parents at the end of the summer.  The curriculum includes emphasis on writing, networking, and presentation skills.

“BYE is designed to boost their self-confidence and instill work ethic that will stay with them for years to come – no matter what career path they choose to take,” states Grey.

Building Young Entrepreneurs starts Monday, June 3rd and runs through August 2nd, Monday thru Friday from 8am to 6pm; open house is Friday, May 31st from 7pm to 8pm.
Camp is held each day at The Blu Bisque at 3397 Main Street, College Park, GA 30337.
