Kids love to be outdoors day and night. They’ll even sleep outdoors and often beg to go camping but many parents want the convenience of electricity and the safety of locking doors. Some call camping with these extra “glamping” and there are several places in Georgia that offer yurt camping on a reservation basis.
Camping yurts are typically lightweight, portable shelters. Most yurts are spacious with lots of headroom. Yurt camping can range from a bare and basic plywood structure with dome roof to fully furnished units. Yurts might have heat and electricity, queen-sized beds, relaxing couches, tables, and even running water, and wood floors.
If you’re nervous about camping or have a young child who might not be comfortable staying in a traditional tent, a Yurt might be a good starting point.
