Atlanta Diaper Relief was just given a year’s worth of diapers from Pampers Baby Board via BlackandMarriedWithKids.com! How amazing for Ms. Smith and for the many Atlanta babies and families in need of diapers.
Kia Morgan Smith created Atlanta Diaper Relief after learning of diaper banks up north and seeing the need for a diaper bank here in Atlanta. Atlanta Diaper Relief is the first diaper bank in the metro Atlanta area solely dedicated to distributing diapers to those in need.
Did you know that:
- Safety-net programs such as the Food Stamp Program and WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) do not cover the cost of diapers.
- An adequate supply of diapers can cost over $100 per month.
- A baby crying from a soiled diaper for a prolonged period of time may be at a greater risk of physical abuse by the caregiver, as recognized in studies of patterns of abuse among low-income families.
