Fall Bird Seed Sale

WHEN: Nov 1st – Nov 13th

Pre Purchase November 1-13 and Pick Up at CNC November 18-20
Feed your feathered friends premium Coles birdseed and benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center. A variety of Coles Bird seed will be presold and can be picked up at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Trail Hikes

WHEN: Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 pm

A CNC docent guides you on a journey through the CNC trails using biofacts and activities to spark your “natural” curiosity.


Creature Feature – Nature’s Storytellers

WHEN: Thursdays & Fridays at 4 pm and Saturdays & Sundays at 2 pm

Nature is full of interesting stories about plants and animals.  Head out to CNC and discover the interesting stories behind some of our permanent resident (as you meet them up close) as well as some folklore associated with them.  Be sure to bring stories of your own to share! All Ages.


Feeding Time

WHEN: Tuesdays and Saturdays at 4:00pm

Join a naturalist for an in-depth look at one of our resident animals as our Wildlife Department feeds them!


Animal Encounter

WHEN: Sundays at 4:00 PM

Learn about the native wildlife living at CNC through a 30-minute live animal presentation with one of our naturalists or docents.


Story Time by the River

WHEN: First Wednesday of the month

Join volunteers for a fun story time at CNC. Using books, puppets, and other props, they tell stories all about nature. Ages 3 – 5.


Adult Bird Walk

WHEN: Nov 5th from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM

Ages 16 – adult. Join Master Birder and Wildlife Volunteer Zelia Lebeau for morning bird walk to discover what feathered friends you will find on the grounds of CNC.


Live in the Ben Brady Pavilion – von Grey

WHEN: Nov 5th at 1:00 PM

All Ages.  Local music sensation von Grey comes to the Chattahoochee Nature Center with their energetic new-grass sound. This group is sure to draw a crowd, so grab your picnic blanket and get out here for one of the best shows of the year.


Brownie Overnight

WHEN: Nov 5th at 6:45 PM – Nov 6th at 10:00 AM

Cost: $35 per scout, $25 per adult. Earn your Space Explorer Try-It (or comparable new badge) in an exciting overnight at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Experience STARLAB, our portable planetarium, go on a night hike, see an animal up close, eat s’mores around a campfire and more!  Registration begins Sept 20. Pre-registration Required.


Mammal Study Merit Badge

WHEN: Nov. 6th from 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Cost: $20 per scout*, Pre-registration Required. Discover what makes a mammal a mammal! Learn about one of the mammals that CNC has in rehabilitation, and find out how we get our biofacts and what we have to do to preserve them.


Privet Pull

WHEN: Nov. 6th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Ages 5 – adult, Pre-Registration Recommended. Help us in eradicating this non-native plant from the wetlands along the river.  Bring a pair of gloves and shovel if you have them!


Junior Overnight

WHEN: Nov. 12th at 6:45 PM – Nov. 13th at 10:00 AM

Cost: $35 per scout, $25 per adult.  Pre-registration Required. Earn your Sky Search Badge (or comparable new badge) in an overnight adventure at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Green Building Tour

WHEN: Nov. 13th at 1:00 PM

All Ages.  In honor of America Recycles Day on November 15th – tour our Gold LEED Certified Discovery Center, learn about what we did to make our building “green” and how you can incorporate LEED at your home!


Home School Lunch and Learn & Science Monday

WHEN: Nov. 14th from 12:30 PM – 3:00PM

All Ages.  November 14 launches Geography Awareness Week so learn about how geography affects nature while enjoying your lunch from 12:30 – 1pm.  Then head to the Nature Exchange for trading, project help and to solve the science experiment of the month!


Backyard Campout

WHEN: Nov. 19th at 5:00 PM – Nov. 20th at 10:00 AM

$45 General Public/$35 CNC Member (price per tent) Pre-Registration Required. Wrap up fall with a family campout!  You and your family can unwind from the busy week and sleep out under the stars, play games in the meadow, and visit with nocturnal animals.  A special treat this time will be the opportunity to join the Tree and Forest Folklore hike for no additional cost!


Tree and Forest Folklore Hike

WHEN: Nov. 19th from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

$10 General Public/$7 CNC Members.  Pre-Registration Required. In Autumn, the many vibrant colors of the woodland canopy delight and inspire us.  Join Horticulturalist Lisa Cole in an evening journey through our illuminated woodland trails.  This program will teach you to identify common species in our region, as well as give insight into the Spirit of the Trees.  Topics covered include Celtic and American folklore, medicinal properties, and surprising associations with Hobbits and Winnie the Pooh.  Wrap up the evening with campfire, music, and more!


STARLAB

WHEN: Nov. 20th from 1:00 PM – 2:00PM

Ages 5 – adult.  Take a naturalist-led journey through the night sky in STARLAB, our portable planetarium.  Find out what constellations, planets and stars are up this season and learn some stories to share with your family for the upcoming holiday!


Craft Week

WHEN: Nov 21st- Nov 23rd from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Ages 4 – 12.  Just in time to decorate your Thanksgiving dinner table!  Help us reuse and recycle items to make fun, take-home projects.  Different crafts each day!


Bio-Buggies

WHEN: Nov 21st- Nov 23rd from 1:30 – 3:00 PM

Ages 4 –12.  Come explore the Insect and/or Bird Bio-Buggies!  Discover the fascinating world of insects and birds with hand-on experiments and tools.
