Whether you live in the Atlanta area or are just in town for a visit make sure you stop by the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. You will be amazed at all of the exciting exhibits, and surprised at how much fun you can have while learning something new.

Your children will love Fernbank’s new exhibit, NatureQuest. Here they will be able to learn about the natural world through discovery and play. They will be having so much fun exploring the virtual waterfall and live animal displays that they will not even realize that they are learning.

Have you ever wondered what Georgia looked like when dinosaurs inhabited the earth? If so make sure you stop by “A Walk Through Time in Georgia.” This exhibit will show you how Georgia has transformed over millions of years to become what it is today. You will get to see dinosaurs in the Ruling Dinosaurs Gallery, and you will see what the ocean floor looks like in the Gray’s Reef diorama.

Once you have seen all of the great exhibits that they museum has to offer, stop by the IMAX Theater to learn a little more. There are two great movies showing right now, “Born to be Wild” and “The Greatest Places.”

“Born to be Wild” is about the people who rescue and raise orphaned orangutans and elephants, so that they can be returned to the wild. “The Greatest Places” is a journey you will soon not forget. You will get to visit seven of the most amazing locations on earth.

The Fernbank Museum of Natural History opened in 1992, and it houses the world’s largest dinosaurs. It also houses The St. Catherines Island Foundation and Edward John Noble Foundation Collection, which has over one million artifacts from Europe and the Native Americans.
