As if there weren’t already enough reasons to pack the family in the car and make the quick trip to King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort on St. Simon’s Island to enjoy the warmer weather (a good 10 degrees warmer than Atlanta today), now there’s one more reason! The January 2013 issue of Golf Digest Magazine features 36 Best Buddies-Trip Destinations – naming the King and Prince Golf Course and Sea Island’s Seaside & Plantation courses as the #5 Pick!
The list was compiled by surveying Golf Digest panelists, roughly 1,100 avid golfers who produce their biennial ranking of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. They scored buddies-trip destinations that they visited on a scale of 1-10.
The King and Prince Golf Course, one of Georgia’s finest golf courses, is luxuriously designed to wind among the ancient oaks and vast salt marshes at the northern end of St. Simons Island. The Course is viewable online with a 3-D graphic that transports viewers to each of 18 holes via a hole-by-hole flyover.
According to Bud St. Pierre, Director of Sales & Marketing for the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort “We are honored to be recognized as one of the nation’s hottest golfing destinations. The number of PGA professionals making our island home is a testament to the quality of the courses on St. Simons Island. To golfers, it doesn’t get better than this. The ‘value’ of our course is relevant when comparing to the other courses noted. We do offer the most affordable golfing experience ~ and a striking backdrop for great memories made with friends.”
