Farmhouse in the City Fall Art Class Line-up for Kids

Farmhouse in the City is a whimsical art and play studio dedicated to enriching children’s lives through art and compassion for people, animals and the planet, located in a historic Roswell cottage built with creative spaces, plus a great courtyard garden!
They host birthday parties, classes, offer play and paint hours and camps. Farmhouse in the City mixes art and animals for a unique experience for all ages!

MINI MICHELANGELO

This class will introduce each child to the seven basic elements of design- line, shape, form, color, value, texture and space. We will experiment with the elements to discover how artists use these as building blocks to create a variety of multimedia art work. 10 week session

MOVE AND MAKE: YOGA AND PAINTING

This class will teach breathing techniques and basic yoga poses, while incorporating playful games into your young yogi’s practice. Following their weekly yoga practice, each child will paint a canvas based on a different yoga pose.

ART HISTORY FOR KIDS

A fun and interactive class that will introduce kids to 10 famous artists they should know. Each week we will study an artist in a format and style that will appeal to children. Children will create a project every week that incorporates each famous artist’s style.

COOKING IN COLOR

A fun cooking class, based on fresh ingredients and the colors of the rainbow. Each organic recipe will feature a fruit or vegetable in vivid color. Think pomegranate ice cream sandwiches, carrot soup and lemon cupcakes. Your little chef will learn basic measurement, as well as fun cooking techniques, such as making cheese. Join us in this creative, colorful cooking class that will expand your child’s taste buds.

DRAWING 1- STILL LIFE

The class will teach students how to use observation to draw the things they see using a variety of media and methods. Each week we will learn about the basics of drawing. Kids will go through the steps of observation drawing, mark making, blind contour, pure contour, cross-contour, and get into shading and hatch work. Kids will bring in something special as a subject for a final still life project.
