Make Way for the 12th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest Oct. 6-9

Tybee Island’s 12th Annual Pirate Fest on Oct. 6-9 will play host to the hub of pirate action in the South Beach parking lot on Tybrisa Street. Every Columbus Day weekend, local pirates and those from far distant lands converge on Tybee Island for a four-day swashbuckling festival with live music, a parade and family-friendly activities.

 

The merriment begins Thursday, Oct. 6 with the coronation of Pirate Fest’s King and Queen at the Buccaneer’s Ball from 6-10 p.m. at The Crab Shack. The celebration continues on Saturday, Oct. 7 with the first ever Bud Light Pirate Pub Crawl. Participants for the Bud Light Pub Crawl should come to the main gate to get tickets where people will receive a punch card that must be taken to six of the sponsoring bars. The first 250 at the Pub Crawl will receive a T-shirt and the rest will receive cozies. Other highlights on Friday, Saturday and Sunday include the live music, the Pirate Victory Parade, a fireworks show, Little Matey’s Cove, The Bud Light Whatever Bar, Thieves Market and costume contest for owners and their pets.

 

This year’s headliners are A1A and Delbert McClinton. A1A, a seven piece band that is the official and original Jimmy Buffett tribute show, is headlining the show on Friday, Oct. 7 from 9:15-10:45 p.m. Delbert McClinton, a multi-Grammy award winning American electric blues and blues rock singer-songwriter is set to rock the main stage from 9:15-10:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8followed by a fireworks show that can be viewed from the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion or Tybee’s eastern beaches. Additional acts on Saturday and Sunday include The Brigands, and Big Engine.

Buccaneer Ball: $45 advance (through Oct. 2, 2016) | $50 at door

Friday Pass: $12

Saturday Pass: $15

Weekend Pass: $25 for advance tickets

Sunday: Free

Kids 12 and under admitted free.
